Hermana Eloísa Torralba Aquino, misionera del Sagrado Corazón de Jesús Ad-Gentes, nació en Huamantla, Tlaxcala, México. Es la mayor de seis hermanos, cuatro mujeres y dos hombres. Sintió el llamado a la vocación religiosa misionera a los 19 años durante una Hora Santa juvenil. Después de un tiempo de oración, discernimiento y con la ayuda de una hermana misionera Ad Gentes que coordinaba el grupo de jóvenes, y del vicario parroquial. Ingreso a la Congregación de Misioneras del Sagrado Corazón de Jesús Ad Gentes como aspirante a la vida religiosa misionera. 

Después de haber cumplido con el tiempo de formación establecido para la vida religiosa hizo su primera profesión religiosa el 9 de diciembre de 1998. Durante este tiempo dio su servicio misionero en varios lugares de México como: Puebla, Tlaxcala, Estado de México, Durango, Ciudad de México, en colegios, parroquias y misiones temporales en la sierra norte de Puebla, este tiempo fue de formación espiritual, intelectual y humana para dar el paso decisivo hacia su consagración definitiva por medio de la profesión de votos perpetuos el 10 de diciembre de 2004. 

En agosto de 2005 fue designada para la misión extranjera en la Diócesis de San Severo Italia, en la parroquia de Croce Santa donde permaneció hasta 2009. En 2010 recibió una nueva asignación para la misión extranjera, esta vez en los Estados Unidos en la Diócesis de Owensboro Kentucky, colaborando durante ocho años en la parroquia de San José Mayfield como Coordinadora del Ministerio Hispano. En 2018 paso a la Diócesis de Springfield, Illinois a la parroquia de San Alexius en Beardstown Illinois donde permaneció por pocos meses. El 02 de enero de 2019 llego a la Diócesis de Knoxville para coordinar el ministerio hispano de la parroquia de Santa Brígida en Dayton y Pastor del Valle en Dunlap. El 03 de julio de 2022 ha sido asignada formalmente como coordinadora del Ministerio Hispano para la Basílica de santos Pedro y Pablo. 

Para la hermana Eloisa, la evangelización por medio de la alegría y el servicio compartido son una manera de mostrar el rostro misericordioso de Dios a la humanidad y de propagar la devoción al Sagrado Corazón de Jesús. Una de sus citas favoritas es:

Sister Eloisa Torralba Aquino, MAG

Sister Eloísa Torralba Aquino, missionary of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Ad-Gentes, was born in Huamantla, Tlaxcala. Mexico. She is the oldest of six siblings, four girls and two boys. She felt the call to the religious missionary vocation at the age of 19 during a youth group Holy Hour. After a time of prayer, discernment and with the help of an Ad Gentes missionary sister who coordinated the youth group, and also the parochial vicar, she entered the Congregation of Missionaries of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Ad-Gentes as an aspirant to missionary religious life. 

After having completed the time of formation established for religious life, she made her first religious profession on December 9, 1998. During this time she gave her missionary service in several places in Mexico such as: Puebla, Tlaxcala, State of Mexico, Durango, and Mexico City; in schools, parishes and temporary missions in the northern mountains of Puebla. This experience of spiritual, intellectual and human formation led her to take the decisive step towards her definitive consecration, with the profession of perpetual vows on December 10, 2004. 

In August 2005, Sister Eloisa was assigned to the foreign mission in the Diocese of San Severo Italy, in the parish of Croce Santa, where she remained until 2009. In 2010, she received a new assignment to the foreign mission, this time in the United States, in the Diocese of Owensboro Kentucky, collaborating for eight years in the parish of Saint Joseph in Mayfield, Kentucky, as Coordinator of the Hispanic Ministry. In 2018, Sister Eloisa moved to the Diocese of Springfield, Illinois, to the parish of Saint Alexius in Beardstown, Illinois, where she remained for a few months. On January 2, 2019, she arrived at the Diocese of Knoxville to coordinate the Hispanic Ministry of the parish of Saint Bridget in Dayton and Shepherd of the Valley in Dunlap. On July 3, 2022, she has been formally assigned as Coordinator of the Hispanic Ministry for the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul. 
        
For Sister Eloisa, evangelization through joy and shared service are a way to show the merciful face of God to humanity and to spread devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. One of her favorite quotes is: “I trust in your mercy, my heart rejoices in your salvation.” Ps. 13:6
