St. Ambrose Catholic Homeschool Co-op is happy to announce our annual Advent Candle fundraiser. St. Ambrose families will be selling candles following all Masses the weekends of November 5/6, 12/13, and 19/20. Candles are $7 for a box of four 12-inch tapers. Our 2022-23 Annual Stewardship Appeal has begun. This appeal is to support the regular operation of our parish through Offertory giving. It is separate from the Under One Roof campaign to replace our roof and heating & air conditioner systems. We are aiming for 100% participation in our Offertory by all parishioners. The pledge will be conducted during Mass on October 22 & 23 (Click to view and submit the pledge on our Stewardship page at any time.) Thank you for your generous support for our parish.

Traditional Lighting of Luminaries on All Souls Day in remembrance of deceased loved ones, following 5pm Vespers on Nov. 2. Cost is $5 per luminary to support our Under One Roof campaign. The Cause for Sainthood for former pastor of Sts. Peter and Paul, Fr. Patrick Ryan, has many costs associated. The Ombrellino Gift Shop now has mugs, pens, pencils, as well as medals to offer for a donation to the Cause of Sainthood of Fr. Patrick Ryan. If you would like to make a monetary donation to support the Cause, you can do so on our Online Giving or by donating cash or a check to the Basilica, marked "Cause of Fr. Patrick Ryan". Contact Dcn. Our Blessed Virgin Mary Visitation Ministry is looking for volunteers to bring Holy Communion to homebound parishioners. Please contact Deacon Gaspar if you have an interest in this ministry. Training will be provided. Click to find out more.

Basilica parishioner Alex Reynolds, young adult son of Jim & Susan Reynolds, was hospitalized and in critical condition with sepsis and not breathing on his own. Alex’s doctors indicated that his passing was imminent. UPDATE 10/16/22: Alex has been anointed and is currently breathing on his own! The Reynolds family requests prayers for Alex.

Mary Cecilia Brewer, who had been a parishioner of Sts. Peter and Paul and OLPH, has passed away at the age of 98. Please pray for the repose of her soul. A funeral Mass will be offered at the Basilica of Sts. Peter and Paul Friday, October 14, at 9:30am. All are invited. Mary Cecilia Brewer worked in the offices of Sts. Daniel Sharkey is a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 610 and has volunteered as an Usher/Greeter for many years. Daniel suffers from diabetes and related complications, as well as ministrokes, that have limited his activities and mobility. Daniel appreciates prayers, calls, and visits. Daniel is now legally blind and has fallen a few times due to instability. Lorelei’s Library was established and dedicated on Oct. 5 to remember and honor Lorelei Truett (6/3/2007-12/2/2021), our 14-year-old parishioner who died last December as a result of leukemia. Lorelei had a great love for reading, and this library is meant to pass on to many young people the opportunity to love what she loved. The library of children and young adult books is open for parishioners of all ages. There are instructions on how to use the library on-site and on our website.

Deacon Gaspar will take prayer intentions with him on his pilgrimage to Lourdes and Fatima. If you would like to submit a prayer request, you may email him at [email protected] or write the intention on a small piece of paper and bring it to the parish office by Thurs., Oct. 20, to ensure that he will have it before he leaves. You may fold it or place it in a small envelope marked Fatima Prayer Request for privacy.
