Our Under One Roof projects to replace the Basilica's roof and HVAC system are about to begin. Due to the sharp price increases since the projects were originally quoted, we are asking everyone to consider helping us reach our $500,000 Stretch Goal of additional pledges, by making a new pledge or increasing your pledge.
To give you a basic breakdown of our additional costs:
The HVAC project doubled in cost (original quote was $450K; the current quote is $900K).
The roof project increased due to materials costs (from $750K to $900K).
We also estimate several families will not be able to fulfill their pledges because they have moved, had death or illness, or have fallen on hard times (We estimate $50K-$110K).
This totals about $700K more funds needed than we planned. We had allowed some extra room when we set our campaign goals, but not that much. We are now asking for $500,000 in pledges to make up the difference. If we don’t raise enough, we will need to get a loan. (Currently, we are debt-free as a parish.) If you would like to help us, you can pick up a pledge card in the vestibule or contact the parish office.
We are grateful to those who support our parish offertory and our Under One Roof campaign, and we need your continued support to preserve our beautiful Basilica. We encourage you to use our online giving, and to make your gift in a recordable way.
