Please pray for Tony Ackaouy, brother of Basilica parishioner Andrea Tartar, who was admitted to surgical ICU in April 2022 with multiple organ failures following an accident that occurred in November 2022.
Update 7/23/22 - Tony has been able to finally come home from the hospital! Praise be to God! He is having a slow recovery, but has a lot of help. Thank you for your prayers.
Update 6/7/22 - Defying the odds, Tony has pulled through the surgeries in April! The doctors did not expect him to make it. He is progressing slowly and it will be a long recovery ahead. He was just moved today to a different hospital that will encompass more rehab. He has a trach now and is unable to talk but can communicate a bit by writing. His body has been through a lot. His family is grateful to still have him with us and hopes he will continue making progress, no matter how slow it is. They are grateful for all your prayers.
Update 4/7/22 - Anthony (Tony) Ackaouy, age 60, Catholic, is in surgical ICU at Erlanger and not doing well. He suffered an accident in November and blocked out the memory of it, so it is yet unknown what happened. The accident resulted in four broken ribs and internal organ damage. After multiple surgeries since the accident, his major internal organs are failing, and he has been admitted to surgical ICU.
With the gravity of Tony's current situation, his family has asked for prayers at this critical time in his life.
