Updates
Update 12/6/22: Marc Aramian's follow-up PET scan on Dec. 5, 2022, showed that he is CANCER-FREE! Thanks be to God! Marc is slowly recovering from the harsh treatment on his throat, still impairing his swallow, taste, and voice. Thank you for your prayers for Marc and his wife, Veronica DiPippo, as they went through this trial. Please continue to pray for his full recovery from the treatment and for long-term remission.
Update 9/10/22: Marc Aramian completed his 7-week aggressive treatment for throat cancer last week, which included 35 rounds of radiation, and he has begun the healing process. They will scope his throat after 6 weeks (in October), and do a PET scan in 3 months (December). Please pray that he will be cancer-free.
Marc is grateful that he has retained his ability to swallow, aided by his wife's therapy as a speech pathologist. They ask for our prayers that he will eventually regain his tastebuds, which were burnt in radiation, to aid his ability to eat normally and return to good health.
Veronica has seen many throat cancer patients in her work as a speech pathologist, and she attests that with the power of prayer, Marc is getting along much better than most at this stage. They are so thankful for your love and support.
Update 8/25/22: Marc is near the end of his sixth of seven weeks of chemo and radiation for his throat cancer. It has been really dreadful, as expected, for his eating, with complications to salivation, swallowing, and most painful for his throat and neck. He has been able to continue to attend Mass during this ordeal, and he has been seeking the intercession of St. Peregrine. We invite you to do the same as he enters this final stretch of treatment and navigates its traumatic effects, with the hope of healing. (Scroll down to see St. Peregrine prayers.)
Update 8/5/22: Marc has finished his third week of chemotherapy for throat cancer, and it is getting rough. He still has four weeks to go. He and his wife Veronica appreciate your prayers for his endurance as he struggles through this rigorous treatment.
Update 7/24/22: Marc's first week of chemo has gone reasonably well with nausea as to be expected. Marc and Veronica are leaning on this Sunday's Gospel from Luke 11: 1-13: "For everyone who asks, receives; and the one who seeks, finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened." Please join them in "knocking" in prayer.
Update 7/8/22: Marc saw the oncologist. His Cancer is Stage 1 with a very good prognosis. He will undergo brutal chemo and radiation for seven weeks. Of concern are several potential long-term side effects, particularly the loss of swallowing. His treatment will begin July 18.
