Kimberly Russell is a recent convert to the Catholic faith. She and her husband Robert and two daughters joined the Basilica parish in 2022. Kimberly is having surgery at Vanderbilt on January 23, 2023, and she has asked for our prayers. She has received the Anointing of the Sick to strengthen her before her surgery.
Here is the prayer request from Kimberly sent on the day before her surgery:
Please pray for me I am having surgery tomorrow [January 24, 2023] at 1pm central time [2pm Eastern]. I am having reconstructive surgery on my nose. My septum is deviated pretty severely and I cannot breathe out of my left side of my nostril. I also have a nasal collapse as well when I breathe. It is a 3 1/2 hour surgery. I will be at Vanderbilt medical center. I should be home afterwards God willing.
Thank you for your prayers! We will post updates here following surgery.
Update 1/25/23: Kimberly made it home from surgery and is resting. As she recovers she is initially unable to breathe through her nose, and her eyes are hurting. Pain is a little better today than yesterday, she said. She is grateful for everyone's prayers.
