Masses to Pray for Those Serving in Professions A time honored tradition of the Church is the annual celebration of Masses that are known by the color associated with the profession of those we remember and pray for in a special way. These Masses are being celebrated at the Cathedral in Knoxville on the following Sundays this Fall:
Sept. 27 - Blue Mass for those serving in Law Enforcement, Fire Fighters, and all First Responders
Oct. 4 - Red Mass for those serving in the Judiciary and Legal Profession
Oct. 18 - White Mass for those serving in the Health Profession
Nov. 8 - Green Mass for those who have served and are serving in the Armed Forces
While these Masses are being celebrated at the Cathedral, we will join in praying for the members of these service professions in a special way at our Masses on these days. Members of the profession are invited to wear your uniform to the 9:00 Mass, and Fr. Carter will give a blessing. The common good of our towns and cities, counties and state and our nation rely so heavily upon the sacrifices of our men and women who serve in these professions. Thank you for remembering those who serve our communities and for praying for them.
