Collecting Supplies for Hurricane Helene Relief (Updated 10/3)

Donate to Catholic Charities of East Tennessee Disaster Fund


In addition to donating to Catholic Charities of East Tennessee relief efforts for Hurricane Helene, our parishioners Dcn. Joe Roy and his son-in-law Hank DeHart are collaborating with efforts in Unicoi County and St. Michael the Archangel parish in Erwin, TN, to get supplies to the people in need. We are collecting specific supplies at the Basilica through Sunday, October 6. 

Drop your donations in the marked bins under the steps that go down to Varallo Parish Hall, anytime the church is open through through Sunday, October 6. 

Please ONLY donate the items listed on the flyer. NO CLOTHING. 

Items currently needed:

New list of needs for helping women & babies:
Size 4 & 5 diapers
baby formula
feminine hygiene products
baby wipes
diaper cream
toilet paper
(You can also donate to Basilica mother, Dierdre Cooper, through Venmo, and she will use 100% of the donations to purchase the diapers, wipes, and formula. See flyer below...)

Alright y'all, time to walk the walk. 
Eastern TN and Western NC have suffered unimaginable damage from Hurricane Helene. A friend from our parish, Hank DeHart, has already made one trip up Erwin to bring supplies. He has a big truck and a trailer and is planning more trips to the area to hand out supplies. He said some of the biggest needs are diapers, wipes, and formula. So let's shower these moms! Venmo me @Deirdre-Cooper-5 with the subject "diapers" and we will go to Costco this weekend, buy all of the supplies, and bring them to the Basilica. 100% of the donations will buy diapers, wipes, and formula. 100% of the donations will be brought to Eastern TN by Hank. If you live nearby, please drop off supplies at the Basilica.
