The Diocese of Knoxville Office of Vocations and the Basilica of Sts. Peter and Paul are hosting a Vocation Story Night.
The evening will include adoration and vocation stories from Father David Carter, Brother Kevin Doerge of the Canons Regular of St. John Cantius, Sister Scholastica of the Dominican Sisters of St. Cecilia Congregation, and two married couples: Jack & Mary Cooper and Lance & Ashley
Truett.Â
Dinner, desserts, and refreshments will be provided.
The Basilica's nursery will be open for a limited number of children ages 3 and under, on a first-come, first-serve basis.Â

Brother Kevin Doerge is a member of the Canons Regular of St. John Cantius – a religious community of men dedicated to the Restoration of the Sacred – and currently lives in Chicago. He grew up near Pittsburgh and received a degree in Statistics from the University of South Carolina. He worked as an actuary for nine years in Chattanooga before discerning a call to the priesthood and religious life. He enjoys studying, baseball, and making Simpsons references.
Sister Scholastica Niemann
Sister Scholastica Niemann, of the Dominican Sisters of St. Cecilia Congregation, grew up in Oak Ridge, TN and attended Knoxville Catholic High School. She studied Theology at the University of Dallas and taught at KCHS before entering the convent in 2008. She made final vows in 2015 and has taught in four high schools in Tennessee.Â
