Throughout Lent, Knights of Columbus Council 610 will be collecting
monetary donations and
food for
Chattanooga Community Kitchen, to benefit people experiencing homelessness and hunger among us.
The Knights of Columbus will match $100 for every $500 Council 610 raises as part of our Food for Families program. Even donations of $1-$5 help us get closer to our goal of $2,500 in donations, with a $500 match by Easter. We are hoping for a grand total of $3,000 between the goal of $2,500 and the $500 match from Supreme. We are also challenging other councils in the area to join us to maximize the impact for the Community Kitchen.
Donating to this cause would be a great Lenten sacrifice that would benefit the less fortunate. If you help the Chattanooga Community Kitchen or anyone helping to feed the hungry or shelter the homeless, you are fulfilling a corporal work of mercy. In this Year of St. Joseph, Pope Francis has given a plenary indulgence to those who fulfill a work of mercy in the spirit of St. Joseph. Although we are asking for donations throughout Lent,
we will be making a special appeal March 19-21, in conjunction with the Solemnity of St. Joseph.
