The JERICHO BRASS BAND of Chattanooga will be performing a specially focused concert on Saturday November 11th, also known as VETERAN’S DAY. The concert will be given at The Basilica of Sts. Peter & Paul at 7:30 pm.
The purpose of this event is to honor and demonstrate our appreciation for the sacrifices that our men and women of our military services have given over the years and around the world to fight for the freedom and liberty we enjoy today. Their love of country and commitment to fight and even die, for our freedom and liberty has been a tradition of their action since the beginning of this nation.
The theme of this concert is “WE WERE SOLDIERS”. It is Patriotic in nature and scope. It will feature songs and hymns that have been selected to salute and recognize the effort these heroes from yesterday and today have given in the cause of FREEDOM.
Songs like “Armed Forces Salute” to recognize the collective effort of the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, and (the newest service branch…the Space Force) will be performed. Examples of some music that will be performed include An American Tale, and Hail to the Spirit of Liberty. They are part of the larger program. The program will close with the universal favorite, God Bless the USA.
Mark your personal calendars to bring your whole family, especially your children and grand-children, to this event to honor those who worked hard, and sometimes died, for the freedom we enjoy today. The cliché “FREEDOM IS NEVER FREE” is a true today as it has been throughout our history. Make our attendance something to celebrate, enjoy and to remember why we give thanks on this special day.
The church venue provides a beautiful location for this special concert event.
We look forward to seeing you on SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 11 AT 7:30 PM at THE BASILICA OF SAINT PETER AND PAUL, located at 214 East 8th Street in downtown Chattanooga.

A Note about British Style Bands
In America, over the past several decades, there has been a surge in performing brass bands using the typical British Style Brass Instrumentation. The sounds and style are different from the traditional concert band, in that is uses a variety of different brass instruments and percussions. Cornets are used instead of trumpets. Flugelhorn and upright Tenor Horns (instead of French Horns) are in the mid-range of sound, and trombones and upright Tubas are used to deliver the lower sounds. Combined, these instruments provide a unique and rich color of sound from brilliant to melodious, and when combined, will delight the listener.
