Baby Bottle Benefit for Catholic Charities Pregnancy Help Center
An opportunity for almsgiving during Lent, to benefit women in our community who need prenatal and parenting support:
Pick up an empty baby bottle at the Basilica the weekend of Feb. 20-21
Return the baby bottle to the vestibule the weekend of Feb. 27-28, filled with your cash or check donation
There are women in our community who need prenatal and parenting support. Catholic Charities Pregnancy Help Center offers a wonderful mentoring program, both available from home and in our center.
Please pray for all our moms and their children this Lent. Your donation helps. It’s as simple as prayerfully considering how much you want to give, coming to church the weekend of Feb. 20-21, picking up an empty baby bottle, putting a check or cash into a baby bottle at that time, or returning it the weekend of Feb. 27-28.
Volunteer Opportunities
You can make a difference in the life of a mother and child without leaving the comfort of your own home. Catholic Charities of East Tennessee’s five Pregnancy Help Centers are now providing online pregnancy, parenting and life-skills classes. Volunteers follow up weekly with clients via phone to review the material - it’s that easy and convenient! Training is provided, so if you have a couple of hours a week to help a mother in need, call 423-826-0673 to volunteer to help with mentoring, teaching, office work, or our baby store.
Pregnancy Help Center and Erlanger Partnership - HELP FAMILIES WITH INTENSIVE CARE BABIES
Sometimes God calls us to use our hardships as a blessing for others. If you or anyone you know has had experience with a baby who was born with needs for intensive care, please consider being a mentor at the Pregnancy Help Center. We need men, women and bilingual volunteers with this background. It would take 1.5- 3 hours of your time weekly and can be done at home. Mentoring training will be provided. Contact Sheri at 423-826-0673 for more information.
We are always looking for volunteers, or a chance to share our mission at your next meeting. For more information about our program, contact Sheri Fava 423-826-0673.
