Fr. Carter invites our youth and adult altar servers to a morning hike to Sunset Rock on Lookout Mountain! The hike will be on Sat., Sept. 26, a couple days after his birthday.
Dads of the servers are invited as well. We will need several dads to serve as drivers for the caravan and as chaperones.
Hikers will meet at the Basilica parking lot at 9:00 am for a Rosary at the Marian grotto. Then you will caravan to the Craven House on Lookout Mountain.
Please pack a picnic lunch to be eaten during the hike.Bring plenty of water, sun protection and bug spray as needed.
The hike will include prayer - including some in Latin.
Return to the Basilica will be sometime between 12:30 pm and 1:00 pm.
To help us coordinate the caravan and appropriate supervision, RSVP by answering the following (email to [email protected]):
Will you (server) be able to attend on Sept. 26?
Will you be providing your own transportation from the Basilica to the Craven House?
Dads or servers over the age of 25 - Will you be willing to drive any other servers?
If so, how many additional people could fit in your vehicle?
Dads and servers age 21 and over - Are you able to serve as a chaperone?
If you answered "yes" to being a driver and/or chaperone - please indicate whether you have completed the online Safe Haven training yet, and if not, can you commit to completing it by September 6?
Servers under age 18 will need to turn in permission forms. Parents can download the two forms (permission/medical form and code of conduct form) from the
Youth Group page of our website, fill them out (electronically or handwritten), sign, and either email them to [email protected] or give Maria Rist a signed hardcopy (at server training or via the parish office).
Thank you for considering this special fellowship opportunity!
