The purpose of the group is to encourage mothers of all ages in our vocation of Motherhood while strengthening our knowledge and love of our Catholic faith. We welcome all mothers to our group, regardless of age or number of children.
Under normal cirumstances, we meet at the church to discuss various Catholic topics (Saints, prayers, devotions, etc.) while our children are cared for in the nursery, located next to the church.
At this time of coronavirus restrictions, we are not meeting at our regular times on the church campus, but we continue to connect and support each other virtually, with prayer, meal trains, and online opportunities. We are also beginning to have meetings off-site and outdoors.
The Catholic Motherhood group at The Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul meets the second Tuesday of each month in the Varallo Parish Hall. The meetings are from 10:00-11:30a.m.
We ask a small donation of money for the childcare workers at our morning meeting, who keep the nursery. We take turns providing coffee and a light snack at each meeting. We also bring items from home, that we wish to donate. A donation table is provided for the mothers to take anything they need and what is not taken is given to a charity organization. All mothers who are parishioners, visitors, and friends are welcome to join us for the Motherhood group activities.
