GOOD FRIDAY Passion of the Lord Reading

On Easter Sunday, there will be an additional Mass in Varallo Parish Hall during the 9am, 11:30am and 1:30pm Masses to accommodate our large numbers.

No Confessions on Easter Sunday, due to the priests' doubled Masses. Confessions will still be offered before our 12pm Mass on Monday and Wednesday during Holy Week.

Confessions will also be offered 1-3pm Good Friday.

Our Basilica Lent schedule includes:

Adoration every Friday after the 12pm Mass
Stations of the Cross every Friday at 5:30pm following Benediction and at 7:30pm in Spanish
A virtual Lenten Parish Mission March 1-2 from 7-9pm
A penance service March 15 at 6pm
A St. Joseph Table and a collection and food drive for Chattanooga Community Kitchen the weekend of March 19, in conjunction with the Solemnity of St. Joseph (3 Masses offered)
At the 12pm sung Mass for the Annunciation of the Lord on March 25, Father will give a blessing to expectant mothers and to mothers who have miscarried.
We are honored to again host the Chattanooga Symphony for chamber concerts on March 26 & 27.

Holy Week at the Basilica will include:

Palm Sunday weekend with the usual Mass schedule except that the Extraordinary Form Missa Cantata will begin 15 minutes early, at 11:15 (not 11:30). Also, there will be no outdoor procession this year.
Holy Thursday Mass at 6:30pm, followed by Adoration in the rectory chapel until midnight.
Two Good Friday services to allow social distancing, as well as extended confessions on Good Friday afternoon
In order to stay within our capacity limits, this year's Easter Vigil will be open in-person only to the RCIA class, sponsors, and limited family members.
On Palm Sunday and Easter Sunday, because of expected large attendance, we are offering a second spoken Mass in the parish hall that will begin after the Mass in the church.
We plan to live-stream the Easter Vigil and all the other Holy Week liturgies for everyone.

The Parish Office will be closed on Good Friday, April 2 through Easter Monday, April 5. We will reopen on Tuesday, April 6.

To conclude the Octave of Easter, we will have a Divine Mercy Holy Hour at 10am on April 11.
