Marie Josephine Awad, 95, of Chattanooga, TN, passed on Sunday, Nov. 7, 2021.
Marie had a passion for the Arts of all kinds - music, Broadway, paintings, sculptures - and has traveled all over enjoying the pursuit of the beauty of art. She has been to 5 continents, every state in the U.S., and even walked on a glacier. She unconditionally loved her friends and family. She never met a stranger and was always the happiest person in the room. She also loved her Dr. Pepper. It was her secret to a long, happy life.
She was a member of the Basilica of Sts. Peter and Paul and a graduate of Notre Dame High School, Class of ’44 and was the secretary for both her English and Latin Clubs.
Marie worked in advertising and retail with Miller Brothers, Proffitt’s, Loveman’s and Belk. She loved to be creative and has been influential part of the team on many ad campaigns.
Marie was preceded in death by her father Joe Awad; mother Victoria Zarzaur Awad; brothers George Awad and Norman Awad. Marie was survived by her nephew Joe Awad.
Family will receive friends on Friday, November 12, 2021 from 1-2pm at The Basilica of Sts. Peter and Paul. A Rosary will be prayed for Marie at 1:30pm. Funeral Mass will follow at 2pm.
