El 1 de agosto, el P. Moisés Moreno se trasladará a Gatlinburg para servir de dos parroquias: Santa María en Gatlinburg y Santa Cruz en Pigeon Forge. Basilica parishioner Geiner Alisandro Villatoro Costanza died on June 20, 2021 when his car was hit by a semi-truck on the interstate. The family will receive friends at the Jim Rush Funeral home in Cleveland, TN, on June 25 from 5pm-8pm and June 26, from 12pm-1:30pm, followed by a private service for the family at 2pm. Geiner's body will be sent to Guatemala for burial in his home country. May Geiner's soul, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.

We have made special accommodations to support the need for social distancing during Holy Week. We plan to live-stream all the Holy Week liturgies. On Good Friday we will have two services. Samuel Aníbal Ramírez Aguilar was born on October 29, 1991, and passed away on February 22, 2021, at the age of 29, in a car accident. Samuel’s funeral Mass in Spanish is being held on March 6 at 1:00 pm at the Basilica. Our Basilica parish community mourns the loss of 13-year old Frieyda Yojana Tomas Morales, who died suddently on Monday of a diabetic coma. Her funeral Mass will be celebrated at the Basilica this Saturday, February 13, 2021, at 11:00 am.
